RMS 2010 - Improved 3D Gridding

The RMS 3D Gridder has been made even more robust with the result far closer to geological reality than previous techniques have managed.

RMS 3D gridding is already one of the most robust and accurate systems available. One significant improvement with RMS 2010 is the ability to use the projection of eroded stratigraphy often known as an ‘air interpretation’ –to control the geometry of the grid cells in the remaining sequence. This allows the grid layers to be built as if the rocks had not been eroded, whilst maintaining accurate truncation by the unconformity. The result is far closer to geological reality than previous techniques have managed.
